Opening panel with a special guest. Steffan Kurtz - global manager of CLAAS

November 8

Don't miss the opening panel! It will be a unique meeting with the head of the team responsible for the creation of the amazing Xerion 12 machine!

We cordially invite you to an extraordinary Opening Panel, which will mark the start of the Agro-Premiere event in a unique way.

Large-scale farms need machines with the highest power output, combined with minimal operating costs and simple operation. Will autonomous machines be the answer to the shortage of qualified operators for self-propelled machines—combine harvesters, forage harvesters, and even tractors?

It turns out that the digital future of such solutions is not all that far off. During last year’s Agritechnica trade show in Hanover, CLAAS presented the XERION 12 TERRA TRAC—including an autonomous version.

The head of the team responsible for developing this robotic giant—with over 650 KM of power and moving on four crawler tracks—is Steffan Kurtz.
We are pleased to announce that he has accepted an invitation to the Agro-Premiery Event as a special speaker. During his presentation, Steffan Kurtz will discuss the challenges faced by engineers designing such machines and when we can expect more widespread use of this type of autonomous machinery in agriculture.

Steffan Kurtz

He has been with CLAAS since 2017 and has extensive experience in the agricultural industry and agricultural mechanization. His passion for this sector was born on his family’s livestock farm in western Wales, where he was actively involved in the Young Farmers’ Club (YFC) and local agricultural working groups. After completing his studies in agricultural mechanization at Harper Adams University, he continued working in agriculture, also providing agricultural contracting services.

Before joining CLAAS, he gained experience at John Deere, where he worked in the Farmsight division, supporting the development of precision agriculture technologies. After joining the CLAAS team, he served as product manager responsible for tractors in the UK and Ireland markets, and subsequently headed the product and marketing department. Currently, as global product team manager for large tractors at CLAAS headquarters in Harsewinkel, he oversees global product strategies and development.
