From satellites to plowed fields: Precision agriculture “Made in Poland”

Rapeseed, wheat, sugar beets, legumes, corn, and a wide range of seed crops form the core of production on the approximately 1,000-hectare farm owned by the Miłosz Dobrowolski family from Leśmierz. For several years now, the crops have been monitored via satellite. Based on satellite readings, the farm creates application maps and fertilization plans in accordance with eco-scheme guidelines. The tool that makes this possible has many other features and was developed by the Polish company SatAgro.

The selection of guests for this discussion is no coincidence; the participants will be:

Dr. Jacek Skudlarski, Eng.

Assistant Professor at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW). Lecturer on subjects related to technology and production engineering. Columnist on agricultural technology and Agriculture 4.0 in trade publications. Author of the Facebook blog “Agriculture 4.0 – Agriculture of the Future.” In his free time, he enjoys photography, historical crime novels, and books on technology and the development of civilization.

Joanna Mączyńska-Sęczek - Chief Operating Officer and President of the Management Board at SatAgro Sp. z o.o.

A graduate of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and Kozminski University. Since 2017, she has been with SatAgro, a company that provides a highly automated online service—the SatAgro Platform (app.satagro.pl).

The platform serves as a bridge between the rapidly growing satellite observation sector on one hand and a group of agronomists on the other. In addition to tools based on satellite data, it offers a range of additional components that are widely used in everyday agricultural practice.

She holds the positions of Chief Operating Officer and CEO, which gives her the unique opportunity to manage both the company’s day-to-day operations and its strategy.

Miłosz Dobrowolski – a proud farmer and farm owner in the Łódź Province

For over 14 years, he has been passionately implementing regenerative and sustainable agriculture, focusing on crop stability and maintaining profitability. Thanks to his ambitious plans and innovative approach, he has achieved his goals and is currently working on implementing precision farming technologies aimed at further improving his farm.
